In 1911, the family were living at Warren Farm, Walford. His father was a butcher and a family
Between 1913 and 1920, the family moved to Marsh Farm, Sellack
He enlisted at Ross on Wye into the South Wales Borderers
He was transferred to the 10th Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers who were deployed to France in 1916 in time to take part in the Battle of The Somme
On 26 September 1917 he was Killed in Action at Ypres, age 22
His body was never recovered
He is commemorated at the Tyne Cot Memorial near Ypres and on the Sellack War Memorial
