SELLACK PARISH COUNCIL
MINUTES OF EXTRAORDINARY MEETING HELD ON
WEDNESDAY 7TH MAY 2025
IN ST TYSILIO’S CHURCH AT 7.00PM
Present: Parish Councillors S. Aitken (Chair), M. Robinson (Vice Chair), E. Crowe and J. Marshall. Parish Council Clerk, Claire Vaughan.

3. Open Public Session
3.1. Resident views: None present.
4. Herefordshire Histories Festival (HHF) and Memorial Trail
4.1. Council noted the minutes of Herefordshire Histories Trail Working Group, that took place on 22nd April 2025.
4.2. Information Boards – Council reviewed the four quotes received to design, supply and fit Information boards. Council RESOLVED to instruct Nature Sign Design (NSD) to design the information boards and the Council will then seek comments from the public before finalising the design in time for the July Council meeting, and having the boards made. Council noted that the quote from NSD did not include installation and that this would have to be arranged separately. Council RESOLVED to apply to the Highways authority to install one of the information boards near the Church, on the highway. Council agreed to decide on the location of the second information board, after consulting residents at Upper Grove.
Cllr Crowe advised that the downloadable map and information was now available on the parish council’s website and could be added to, as and when needed.
4.3. Health & Safety – Council RESOLVED to approve the HHF event risk assessment for the Talk and walk event on Saturday 10th May and discussed any additional health and safety requirements for the event and self-guided walk route.
4.4. Parking – The Chairperson confirmed that the landowner had given written permission to use part of their field for parking on Saturday 10th May (for the walk and talk event). Council recorded their thanks to the landowner.
4.5. Event schedule – Council RESOLVED to agree the final programme for the walk and talk event on Saturday 10th May, adding that the Chairperson would brief everyone, at the end of the walk, on what would be happening on the walk and any health and safety matters to note.
4.6. Communications – Council RESOLVED to post a short promotional video of Cllr Marshall, inviting people to join the event, on the Council’s Facebook page. It was also agreed that the Clerk would post on the Ross Noticeboard and the Chair confirmed that an article had been submitted to The Ross Gazette.
5. Future meetings
5.1. No additional items were raised for future meeting agendas (other than those raised during the meeting). Council noted the Forward Plan.
5.2. Council noted the date of the next meeting of Council, which is the Annual Ordinary meeting of Council on Monday 19th May, 7pm. The Clerk advised that the Parish Hall is not available on this date, so will look at other venue options.
