PRIVATE WALTER EDWARD HATCHARD

He was born in Sellack in 1897
In 1901 the family were living at Burfords, Sellack
In 1911, Walter was a House Boy
In 1916 he enlisted in the Kings Shropshire Light Infantry and joined the newly expanded Tank Corps
On 27th November 2017 he was Killed in Action during the tank battle at Cambrai, age 20
His grave site is unknown
He is commemorated on the Cambrai Memorial at Louverval and the Sellack War Memorial
